June 2017 (+ June Flights of Fantasy Linky)

I seriously can't believe that today is the last day of June! We're halfway through 2017 already, if you can believe it, and only have six months left until the start of another new year. It really is incredible how quickly time flies - especially when you're having fun. Hope you've had a good month!

WHAT I DID
The month began with a very welcome bang, as I had the opportunity to attend Book Expo America and BookCon this year! BEA was really fun, as it was way more relaxed than any time I've ever gone and I had the chance to hang out with one of my good friends, Kristin, for majority of the time. BookCon was a surprise, as it was also way more chill than I remember it being. I also got to attend some really cool publisher events - brunch with the NOVL, a party with Big Honcho Media, happy hour with Macmillan and a breakfast with Penguin Teen. All in all, it was a good year - for hanging out with friends and for books - and I hope I get to go again in the future. (P.S. I have vlogs for BEA Day One, BEA Day Two + Three, and BookCon!)

I also got a chance to see Jennifer E. Smith, Jenny Han and Sarah Dessen at the launch party for Once and For All at Books of Wonder, head to the beach three times already (which is more than I've managed any other summer), saw two ballets by the American Ballet Theatre (Swan Lake and Onegin), had dinner with friends (lots of dinners on multiple occasions) and went to see Matthew Perry's show The End of Longing. Plus, I started writing fan fiction again... and fell into a fan fic creation hole so deep, I don't know if I'll ever get out (or want to). (If you're wondering, it's Naruto fan fiction, and I am enjoying myself tremendously).

WHAT I READ
Despite the fact that my fan fiction obsession has been rekindled, I managed to read a total of 13 books. I enjoyed the majority of what I read too. Here are my favorites for June!

WHAT I POSTED

I only read two fantasy books this month - Alphabet of Thorn and The Cruel Prince - though I'm currently in the middle of another one too. (The Cruel Prince was fabulous, by the way, and ought to be added to your TBR if it isn't already on there!) Don't forget to link up to your recaps and reviews below! (And if you still want to sign up and join us, you can do that here.)
