Press Play: Once and For All Playlist

I love Sarah Dessen. I discovered her books when I was in college (starting with The Truth About Forever), and I was immediately hooked on her writing style. It's an honor to be a part of the official blog tour for Once and For All, Sarah's latest novel that's out tomorrow, June 6. I rarely do this, but I decided I wanted to create a playlist inspired by the book. You can find the playlist below all the book, author and pre-order campaign info! And you can also find a giveaway after that.

Once and For All by Sarah Dessen
Publisher: Viking Books for Young Readers
Publication Date: June 6, 2017

Louna, daughter of famed wedding planner Natalie Barrett, has seen every sort of wedding: on the beach, at historic mansions, in fancy hotels and clubs. Perhaps that's why she's cynical about happily-ever-after endings, especially since her own first love ended tragically. When Louna meets charming, happy-go-lucky serial dater Ambrose, she holds him at arm's length. But Ambrose isn't about to be discouraged, now that he's met the one girl he really wants.

Sarah Dessen is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of over a dozen novels for teens, which have received numerous awards and rave reviews, and have sold millions of copies worldwide. She is the recipient of the 2017 Margaret A. Edwards Award from the American Library Association. Sarah lives in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, with her husband, Jay, and their daughter, Sasha Clementine. Visit her online at sarahdessen.com.

If you pre-order a copy of Once and For All (which you can still do!), you can enter to win a trip for two to Emerald Isle, the beachside town that inspires the setting in Sarah's books. All entrants will receive a Once and For All inspired pocket planner. All you have to do is go to the site and upload a photo of your pre-order receipt!

Without further ado, here's the playlist I came up with that's filled with songs inspired by Once and  Weddings and wedding planning are a large part of this story, as well as first love, so I wanted to try and pick songs that personally gave me those vibes. Happy listening!

It's Your Wedding Day / The Wedding Singer OBC
When it's your wedding day,
All the problems melt away,
If you count on me,
'cause love is what
Yes, love is what I do.

(I've Had) The Time of My Life / Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes
Now I've had the time of my life
No, I never felt like this before
Yes, I swear it's the truth
And I owe it all to you

Everything Has Changed (Cover) / Julia Sheer & Landon Austin
'Cause all I know is we said hello,
And your eyes look like coming home
All I know is a simple name
Everything has changed

Falling Slowly / Glen Hansard & Marketa Irglova
I don't know you
But I want you
All the more for that

How Would You Feel (Paean) / Ed Sheeran
How would you feel if I told you I loved you?
It's just something that I want to do
I'll be taking my time, spending my life
Falling deeper in love with you
So tell me that you love me too

Many the Miles / Sara Bareilles
How far do I have to go to get to you?
Many the miles
But send me the miles and I'll be happy to follow you, love

I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me) / Whitney Houston
I wanna dance with somebody
I wanna feel the heat with somebody
Yeah, I wanna dance with somebody
With somebody who loves me

Collide / James Bay
I can't bear to let you go
So keep on throwing your sticks and stones
I'd rather fight with you all night than never have you in my life
I can't bear to let, bear to let you go

Unpack Your Heart / Phillip Phillips
Bring your secrets, bring your scars
Bring your glory, all you are
Bring your daylight, bring your dark
Share your silence
And unpack your heart

Incomplete / James Bay
The world will turn
And we'll grow, we'll learn
How to be, to be incomplete

You Make It Real / James Morrison
All my faith has gone
You bring it back to me
You make it real for me

Difference in Me / Westlife
Hello happiness
Tell me where you've been
I missed the sound of your voice
Missed the touch of your skin
It's no secret I'm not who I used to be
Anyone can see
You're the difference in me

I Choose You / Sara Bareilles
There was a time when I would have believed them
If they told me that you could not come true
Just love's illusion
But then you found me
And everything changed
And I believe in something again

Symphony / Clean Bandit feat. Zara Larsson
I'm sorry if it's all too much
Every day you're here, I'm healing
And I was runnin' out of luck
I never though I'd find this feeling

Your Song / Rita Ora
I only want to hear love songs
I found my heart up in this place tonight
Don't want to sing mad songs anymore
Only want to sing your song
'Cause your song's got me feeling like I'm
I'm in love, I'm in love, I'm in love
