Bout of Books 11

I thought it would be nice to make it official: I'm joining in on Bout of Books 11! I've felt really sad missing out on the last two Bout of Books, so I'm so glad a tweet from Ellice reminded me to write my sign-up post for this time around.

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, August 18th and runs through Sunday, August 24th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 11 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog.

Well, now that you're up to speed on what exactly Bout of Books is, I'm going to be sharing my goals with you below! While I won't be doing daily updates on my progress (except perhaps via Twitter), I did want to make a list of the books I'm hoping to tackle this week, among other things.

Goals:
1. Participate in at least one Twitter chat.
2. Find at least 3 new bloggers to check out.
3. Read 5 books.

For the book portion of my goals, here are the titles I'm going to be choosing from:

Lover At Last - J.R. Ward
The King - J.R. Ward
Lola and the Boy Next Door - Stephanie Perkins (reread)
Isla and the Happily Ever After - Stephanie Perkins (reread)
Amy and Roger's Epic Detour - Morgan Matson (reread)
Girl Defective - Simone Howell
Neverhome - Laird Hunt
Nest - Esther Erlich
Belzhar - Meg Wolitzer
Falling Into Place - Amy Zhang

I'll do a separate post to wrap up the week and let you know how I did on these goals, so watch out for that one on Sunday. Let me know if you're doing Bout of Books this time around too! (I highly recommend it.)

4 Comments:

  1. I'm also participating in Bout of Books this round too. I'm not that ambitious this time around and only have two unabridged audiobooks on my list this round. I plan to listen to Breakfast at Tiffany's by Truman Capote and The Son by Philipp Meyer.

  2. I might see you in one of the chats :)! I've read Falling into place and I still have mixed feelings about it. Happy reading and good luck!
