2016 Reading Challenges + Resolutions Recap

I did a recap last year of my progress with my reading challenges and resolutions, and it allowed me to see how much I really managed to accomplish in the year that was. I thought it'd be fun to take a look at my original resolutions post from 2016 and to see how I've measured up this year.

Travel at least three times next year. | COMPLETE - I'm really lucky, and I managed to travel to a few different places last year for some very exciting trips! I specifically went to Boston, Cape Cod, Paris, Lucerne, Milan, Venice, Rome, Barcelona, and Orlando.

Save, save, save. | COMPLETE -  I've definitely made good progress on creating my own little nest egg! I honestly didn't know if I'd be able to actually stick to my guns on this, but apparently, if I have just the right level of determination, I can!

Cook a meal at least once a week. Bake something at least once every two weeks. | INCOMPLETE - I just don't have it in me to like cooking or baking enough to do it regularly, y'all. I enjoy it when I'm in the right mood for it, but those times are few and far in between.

Exercise at least three times a week. | INCOMPLETE - Apparently, it's really hard for me to get off my lazy bum and actually get some exercise in. I was really good during the warmer months of the year, but in late autumn and winter, I was out.

Buy only X amount of books in a month. | FAIL - It was a major fail on this. I'll explain more in my Picky Pledge reflection posts, but suffice to say, I bought a lot of books.

Read more adult classics. | FAIL - I actually didn't read all that many classics this year, which is a tragedy. I really want to make that a priority next year, so back on the goals list it goes.

Read less review books. | FAIL - I honestly have decided that I'm going to set this goal aside for now, just because I really do wind up being excited about and reading a lot of the books that I'm really lucky to get for review.

Complete all the reading challenges I'm participating in. | INCOMPLETE • I kicked ass at my Goodreads reading challenge and the Flights of Fantasy Reading challenge, but I didn't manage to complete the Re-read Challenge or the PopSugar Reading Challenge, and I failed at the Classics Reading Challenge.

Film at least four vlogs a month. | COMPLETE - I'm really happy with how consistently I was able to create and upload videos to my channel! It's been such a journey from the start to end of this year, and I'm looking forward to creating more videos in 2017.

Collaborate with other bloggers/vloggers. | COMPLETE - I love working with other passionate people in our community, and I'm so lucky to have been able to do a lot - the Love-a-Thon, Tracking Down Tunes, Books IRL, Friendship Festival, Friends with ARCs, Summer of Sailor Scouts, just to name a few.

Collaborate with authors to do a post series or blog feature. | FAIL - Alas, this did not happen in 2016, which makes me sad because I love working with authors I love. Here's to hoping this maybe happens in 2017?

Share a personal post at least two times a month. | INCOMPLETE - I was doing well on this for a little while, but alas, it slowed down severely once autumn hit. I'm really determined to make this blog about more than just books, so watch out for this in 2017.

How did you fare on your 2016 reading challenges & resolutions?
