April 2016

I'm so late in sharing my monthly recap for April, considering that we're nearly halfway through May. Better late than never, right? Plus, I had really good reason to be late, all things considered. You'll hear more about it below and in upcoming posts, but the highlight of my April was being able to go on a fun European vacation with my family! It didn't hurt that the weather started to get warmer too.

WHAT I DID

April was a fun whirlwind of a month, and I know I say that a lot, but it's truer than ever. It was the month that Macky & I discovered a new brunch place nearby, and we're obsessed with their brunch menu (and have gone back three times since the first time). It was also the month I first visited the area where Macky works and we first tried Melt Shop We hung out a ton with our friends Pat & Ian, including a Sunday where we had brunch, went shopping and just vegged out in the apartment. Mel celebrated her birthday early with a picnic at Bear Mountain, and it was an afternoon of sun, fun and intense flag football. And the last two weeks of the month, as mentioned, I went to Europe with my family. We hit up Paris, Lucerne, Milan, Venice, Rome, Sorrento, and Barcelona, and it was so fun! (If you want to see more of my photos, you can follow me on Instagram!)

WHAT I READ

April is the month where I indulged my desire to read graphic novels and manga. And when I say indulged, I mean I proceeded to binge read as many of them as I could manage. I don't regret this life choice at all, except perhaps for the fact that I'm going to have to continue looking for more to devour! This is not to say that I didn't read some pretty awesome books, because that happened too.

I read a total of 14 books and 27 graphic novels and manga.
These were my favorites:
