June 2014

Well, in my last monthly recap, I mentioned that I was hoping for some, and I quote, "beach days, some park days and possibly some road trips". Luckily, I've already had a taste of all three! Even though the farthest I've gone is a toss-up between Long Island and Connecticut (both took about 1 1/2 from the city), all of my weekends have been very summery experiences so far. (In fact, I've constantly been saying that I feel like all us employed people should have mandatory summer vacations!)

Anyway, it's been really nice and sunny! And it's also been a month of some tough times, coupled with a ton of good times too. I've been spending more time with people I love (like actual quality time!), learning to unplug more often and just really immerse myself in live, and reading a lot of great things too! Plus, there's just been some good news that I heard about last night, but I'll tell you all when everything has been set in place.

This July, I look forward to weekends full of adventure! I have the YA Runs a 5K in Philly coming up soon, which will be tons of fun though I will be a walker among all these runners. I also have a fun weekend "away" in New Jersey with Rachel, and am really considering going up to Boston the week before my birthday. Here's to hoping that your July, whatever your plans are, will be filled with sun and fun!

But I am very excited for July! :) I can't wait for our Jersey weekend and our other project this month. Wish I could go to the 5K with you.. you will have to tell me all about it!

  3. Unplugging and spending quality time with people is GREAT. I've been doing the same thing and it's wonderful. I still have a bit of a problem unplugging, but I'm staying off MOST social media during the day. I still look more than I should. :)

Yay for Gayle Forman! I hope you like that series. I just read the series extra Just One Night. I can't wait to see what you think! And I have the Huntley Fitzpatrick book, too. I can't wait to read it!

Good luck with the 5K and I hope you have a great July!

  5. Mortal Heart was so good, right? It was great to finally get Annith's story, but I also love how it wrapped everything up. Seeing the three girls finally together again was one of my favorite parts. And, of course, that love interest. <3

Looks like July is gonna be a busy month for you! I hope you enjoy What I Thought Was True and A Little Something Different! Happy reading, Alexa. :)
