It Runs in the Family: Wall to Wall Bangin'

My sister Melissa is back on the blog to be a (semi) regular reviewer starting this month! Mel reads a lot of paranormal YA, as well as NA novels, so she'll be posting about books that I might not necessarily read (or haven't gotten to just yet).

Wallbanger - Alice Clayton
Wallbanger by Alice Clayton
Series: Cocktail #1
Publisher: Gallery Books
Publication Date: August 13, 2013
Source/Format: Bought || Kindle e-book

The first night after Caroline moves into her fantastic new San Francisco apartment, she realizes she's gaining an intimate knowledge of her new neighbor's nocturnal adventures. Thanks to paper-thin walls and the guy's athletic prowess, she can hear not just his bed banging against the wall but the ecstatic response of what seems (as loud night after loud night goes by) like an endless parade of women. And since Caroline is currently on a self-imposed dating hiatus, and her neighbor is clearly lethally attractive to women, she finds her fantasies keep her awake even longer than the noise. So when the wallbanging threatens to literally bounce her out of bed, Caroline, clad in sexual frustration and a pink baby-doll nightie, confronts Simon Parker, her heard-but-never-seen neighbor. The tension between them is as thick as the walls are thin, and the results just as mixed. Suddenly, Caroline is finding she may have discovered a whole new definition of neighborly...

Appropriately titled, this book made me want to literally bang my head against the wall. There was frustration. There was pleasure. There was, God can I have one please? Definitely telltale signs of a good romance…

+ The Story: Great things come to those who wait. Apparently, they also come to those with thin walls, and a sexy neighbor who manages to shake not just those walls, but also, practically, your entire world. It might have taken a while (and you’ll probably be sorely tempted to jump to the end like I was), but the slow burn of this love story is definitely worth the happily ever after.

+ The Main Man: Simon, Oh Simon, whatever you say, I do. You are PER-FECT (and I say this with every intention of sounding like Harry Styles). Simon is smart, sophisticated, and sexy. He’s Christian Grey-esque and maybe even better because he’s a world traveler. That most definitely makes him my kind of guy. Be MY wallbanger, please?

+ Romance: Swoonworthy. Great build-up. Perfect woo.

+ The Unforgettable Lines:

“Here’s to things staring you in the face”
“Be aware of the walls you build, and what could be on the other side”

I’d give Wallbanger some *snaps* just because I enjoyed the thrill of the chase, and the long awaited happily ever after. It’s funny, light, and full of romance. Plus it can’t hurt that the guy redefines perfection, can it?
