July 2016 (+ Flights of Fantasy July Linky)

Before I say anything else, let's see a show of hands - who else is experiencing massive heat waves this summer? I know that we in New York City are definitely seeing higher and higher temps as the weeks go by. While I mostly love it (because I love the sun), it is seriously hot out there. So, remember to stay hydrated, bring a hat and a hair tie and dress as comfortably as possible! And that, my friends, has been your summer PSA from this summer-loving girl. Moving right on into my month...

WHAT I DID
July has been a seriously busy month. There were tea and macaron dates, a trip to Coney Island, lots of brunches and drinks, an out of town trip to Cape Cod, ice cream runs, game nights, studio nights, a trip to the Whitney and the LIC Flea, days in the park, and a surprise visit from the in-laws (after a health-related issue that happened earlier in the month). It was also the month where Pokemon Go took over my life, and I don't foresee that coming to an end anytime soon!

WHAT I READ
It wasn't intentional, but July has been a surprisingly slow reading month. I don't know whether it's because of my need to be out and about doing things in the nice, sunny weather or whether it's Pokemon Go (let's be real, this is probably the actual reason), but I didn't read as much as I would have expected to this month. I did, however, hit my reading target for the year, so that's something I feel great about! Here are my favorite reads of the month.

WHAT I POSTED

Hello fellow fantasy lovers! How is your reading for the Flights of Fantasy challenge coming along? As I mentioned, I've already hit my target number for this reading challenge, but that hasn't stopped me from reading more fantasies as the days roll by. I've read How to Hang a Witch, Three Dark Crowns, Dragonsong, Dragonsinger, Dragondrums, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, and I'm working on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (which I should finish by Sunday). That's 8 books total, 1 in progress, 2 rereads and 5 new to me fantasies!  Let us know how you've been doing, and link up to your updates, recaps and reviews below! (And if you still want to sign up, please feel free to do so. It's a no pressure reading challenge where you set your own goals and we'd love to have you.)
