The Monday Mix (12)

While I did enjoy doing A Sunday Retrospective, I've made the decision to stop posting on the weekends. I rarely open up my laptop during that time, and I'd prefer to keep it that way. The only thing that made me really sad was the fact that I would no longer have an outlet to share my favorite links from the past week. I mourned that for all of ten seconds before realizing that I could just start a new feature - and so, The Monday Mix was born.

The Monday Mix basically gives me the opportunity to share with all of you the links I loved online from last week, everything from reviews to articles about writing and perhaps other things too. I've always valued the opportunity to share the great things I've read or seen, and this is my way to share the love.

-----

1. I love it whenever Rachel does a Bookbags post! This edition is summer-themed, and I loved the pairings she made. My particular favorite is the Aspen Woven bag, and I'm sorely tempted to buy it...

2. Posts like this one about Game of Thrones are more reason for me to love Diana Peterfreund. I loved seeing what she thinks of the history behind the Song of Ice and Fire series.

3. I don't think a week has gone by without Susan Dennard writing great posts about her own writing, which often translate to a particular method of writing (and that's usually inspiring). I liked her recent post about knowing her endings... or possibly not. The travel analogy is pretty awesome!

4. Cupcakes inspired by Butterbeer? Yes please! Gillian shows off her baking skills in this new feature she started, and proceeded to make me hungry in the process.

5. Estelle and Jamie did posts on each of their blogs that have to do with their significant others! Jamie talks about what it's like being married to a non-reader, while Estelle takes the opposite side and talks about being married to a reader.

6. Sometimes, it's the simple questions that get you thinking. Cassie asks her readers why they read, and I may have rhapsodized the teensiest bit when I responded with a comment.

7. Stephanie May is a great blogger! I find myself constantly inspired and uplifted by her words, and this post with blogging advice is certainly one I wanted to make a note of.

8. Aritzia posted an interview with the gorgeous Gemma Burgess. I adored her book Brooklyn Girls, which came out a few weeks ago!

9. I love the girls over at Epic Reads. And I love Susan Dennard. So it's really no surprise that this post made my day when I saw it. You might also want to check out Sooz's playlist for A Darkness Strange and Lovely!

Also, in case you missed out on last week's posts, here they are for easy reference. I hope you check them out, if you haven't already!

I'm a Throne of Glass ambassador and proud of it! Last Monday, I went shopping for Celaena.
Want to know what I did during the July 4th weekend? Here you go.
Novellas more up your speed? Elemental, Fearless + Breathless are glimpses into the Elemental series.
There was definitely a lot of hot, hot, hot action + story in Spark.
Learning about Hunter Garrity was definitely one of the strongest aspects of Spirit.
The Circle of Magic series is definitely one of my favorites!
I share a little bit about friendships, as inspired by #PierceFest.

I hope you enjoy reading these posts as much as I did! Now it's YOUR turn - are there any posts (on your blog or other blogs) from last week that I missed out on? Please feel free to share links in the comments and I'll try to check them out.

  1. I loved the posts Jamie and Estelle did about being married to a reader and a non-reader! Despite Mike loving to read, I couldn't put us in either of those categories. He loves to read but doesn't love how much I love to read. Ha!

  2. What an interesting interview with Gemma Burgess! It certainly gave some insight into BG.
