Rewind & Review: February 2012

Rewind & Review is a great monthly feature started by Ginger of GReads! and Lisa of Lisa is Busy Nerding. Each month, participants will set aside some "older" titles to read and review on their blogs. This feature is the perfect opportunity to get around to reading that title you've been eyeing for years or that book that's been in your TBR for what feels like forever. For more information, you can visit this post.

Back when Ginger and Lisa first mentioned this idea, I was immediately on board. While I always enjoy reading new releases, I would very much like to adjust my reading habits to reflect an equal mixture of older and newer titles - and this seems like the very thing that might help me do it!

For the month of February, I'm committing to reading the following titles, both of which have been on my TBR pile for a while now.

Title: The Fetch
Author: Laura Whitcomb
Publisher: Houghton Mifflin Harcourt
Publication Date: February 2, 2009

Calder is a Fetch, a death escort, the first of his kind to step from Heaven back to Earth. The first to fall in love with a mortal girl. But when he climbs backwards out of that Death Scene into the chaos of the Russian Revolution, he tears a wound in the ghost realm, where the spirits begin a revolution of their own.

Title: Firelight
Author: Sophie Jordan
Series: Firelight #1
Publisher: Harper Collins
Publication Date: September 7, 2010
Marked as special at an early age, Jacinda knows her every move is watched. But she longs for freedom to make her own choices. When she breaks the most sacred tenet among her kind, she nearly pays with her life. Until a beautiful stranger rescues her. A stranger who was sent to hunt those like her. For Jacinda is a draki - a descendant of dragons whose greatest defense is her secret ability to shift into human form.

Forced to flee into the mortal world with her family, Jacinda struggles to adapt to her new surroundings. The only bright light is Will. Gorgeous, elusive Will who stirs her inner draki to life. Although she is irresistibly drawn to him, Jacinda knows Will's dark secret: He and his family are hunters. She should avoid him at all costs. But her inner draki is slowly slipping away - if it dies, she will be left as a human forever. She'll do anything to prevent that. Even if it means getting closer to her most dangerous enemy.

  4. Oh man, I still haven't read Firelight either. I don't know why! It's just been sitting there. All of the new stuff keeps hiding my old stuff. I'm definitely going to have to be participating in this just to get my TBR under control.
