11 Questions

I am honored to have been tagged by Kate at Musings of a Book Lover to answer her 11 questions. While I will not be tagging 11 specific people to do this meme, I will be leaving a set of 11 questions for anyone interested in answering on their own blogs or in my comments.

MY ANSWERS

1. Favorite ice cream flavor?

Ooh, that's a hard one to answer. I'm partial, I suppose to flavors that have chocolate or caramel involved. But surprisingly, the one flavor I never ever get sick of is good old coffee from Haagen Daz.

2. What's in your purse?

I'm in the habit of carrying a huge bag all the time (although I do try to size it down when I can). Today, in my purse, I have the following: my iPad, Bible, a book, a notebook, 3 pens, my wallet, a mini-purse filled with medicine, a little purse filled with make-up, an umbrella, my keys, pepper spray, gloves, a hat, contacts solution and a nail file set.

3. If you could meet one author, who would it be and why?

I've actually been lucky enough to be able to meet some of my favorite authors (Maggie Stiefvater, Christopher Paolini and Meg Cabot) already. But I would love to meet Tamora Pierce and pick her mind about the amazing worlds she's managed to create. I love all of her books and I think she's absolutely brilliant - that's basically why this NEEDS to happen.

4. If money were no object, what is one thing you would buy yourself right now?

Hmmm. I think I'd buy myself a house. As to where the house would be, it'd be either Paris, New York or Manila... or since money is no object, all three then.

5. What do you want to be when you grow up?

I currently work in an office, but what I'd really like is to own a bookstore/cafe and be a writer. This is probably a common dream among us bookworms!

6. What's another hobby besides reading?

I love to travel! No matter how much of a hassle getting from one place to the next might be, I think it's a lot of fun. It's always an amazing adventure to visit a new place and to discover its joys for myself.

7. Favorite recipe?

I hate to admit this but I don't actually cook. *eep* I have favorite foods (because I like to eat), but I won't be able to post a recipe for you.

8. Sweet or sour?

I prefer sweets, as I'm a certified dessert freak.

9. What is one movie you could watch over and over again?

She's the Man. I think that movie is absolutely HILARIOUS.

10. Have you ever been to a play?

Yes, many times! I'm a theater fan, having been involved in drama club since high school. There's something magical about stage productions. One of my recent favorites is Seminar, a Broadway play that stars Alan Rickman.

11. Why did you start blogging?

I've been blogging for a long time (since 2005), and I started mostly as a way to keep in touch with family and friends. But nowadays, I blog because I think it's fun and because it's a great way to meet new people!

In case any of you are interested, here are my questions:

1. What's your favorite read (so far) of 2012?
2. What's your favorite quote?
3. If you could only order from one restaurant for the rest of your life, what would it be?
4. Shoes, clothes or jewelry?
5. Which social networking site is your favorite and why?
6. What's the craziest thing you've ever done?
7. Have you ever been to a live concert? If so, what was your favorite song/performance & why?
8. Who are your top 3 musical artists?
9. Favorite video game?
10. What is the most memorable place you've ever visited?
11. What was your big fangirl moment as a book blogger?

I've just been tagged by Chandra at Unabridged Bookshelf for this meme. I thought I'd just add to this post and share my answers to her questions!

MY ANSWERS

1. If you could only choose 3 books to have on a deserted island with you, what would they be?

I'd bring a copy of the Bible, the Barnes & Noble collector's edition of The Chronicles of Narnia and a book that would teach me about survival in the wild.

2. What situations or issues can you do without in a book?

To be honest, I'm pretty much down for anything. I prefer to avoid cliches (like love triangles, for instance), but if they're well done, I can probably enjoy them. This is a very vague answer, I know.

3. What is the book or series that got you to start reading?

Dr. Seuss books were my first loves as a child; but the series that really jump-started my reading is Nancy Drew & Little House.

4. What is one book you loved that you discovered through blogging?

Die for Me by Amy Plum. That book is SO good. You can see my review HERE.

5. What is your favorite fairytale?

I love fairytales! My favorite is Beauty and the Beast, though I also loved The Little Mermaid.

6. If you could change one thing about your favorite book, what would it be?

My all-time favorite book series is Harry Potter. I would probably not kill off the characters I loved BUT I will admit it added an emotional aspect to the story that hit hard.

7.What is your favorite supernatural creature?

I absolutely LOVE dragons.

8. Can you say rubber baby buggie bumpers five times fast?

Yes, apparently. And I actually did it.

9. What are your top five books being released in 2012?

Incarnate by Jodi Meadows (Review)
A Rogue by Any Other Name by Sarah MacLean
Insurgent by Veronica Roth
Until I Die by Amy Plum
Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi

10. You wake up to discover the Zombie Apocalypse has arrived. What do you do?

Watch the movie Zombieland. I will do exactly what they did. *smiles*

  1. Yes to a house in Manila! So we can meet up. :P Yep, would love to own a bookstore-cafe as well although I don't think it will be profitable here in the Philippines. A girl can dream.

  2. Yes! Buy a house in Paris! Then I'd come visit all the time! And bring chocolate pie cause you mentioned you love deserts and I happen to specialize in chocolate pie :) Also: how do you not cook when you love food so much?? And I'm kinda jealous that you got to meet Christopher Paolini, that must have been awesome! :)

  3. Blogging since 2005?? Girl, I am impressed. I think I just barely knew blogs existed then! And, your purse sounds like a duffel bag. I carry my baby around all day, but I think your purse might be heavier than he is. Reading about the contents cracked me up :) Thanks for sharing!

  4. YES to ice cream with caramel.
Um, lady - your purse is intense. You're going to hurt your back! lol
Please send me recommendations for plays to see for my trip to NY. I WILL see one, but I'm having a hard time picking. We do Broadway tickets for shows here, but I want to experience one while actually in NYC.
