In Maggie Stiefvater's Shiver, Grace and Sam found each other. In Linger, they fought to be together. Now, in Forever, the stakes are even higher than before. Wolves are being hunted. Lives are being threatened. And love is harder and harder to hold on to as death comes closing in.

The Wolves of Mercy Falls trilogy is the first ever series about werewolves I read (and to think, I just picked Shiver up by accident at the Fully Booked store in the Philippines - a happily serendipitous event!). From the very beginning, I've been in love with the series and enjoyed delving into the world that Maggie Stiefvater has crafted.

As a fan of the series, I thought that Forever was incredibly satisfying, especially with regards to the climax and how things came to an end. I loved getting to read about all my favorite characters (Cole and Sam are obviously the ones I'm talking about, as much as I like Isabel and Grace) one last time and to see how each of their personal journeys sort of reached an end. I was quite sad to turn the last page of Forever actually, as I no longer had any more adventures with the wolves of Mercy Falls to look forward to.

I think what bothered me a little bit was how slow-paced some parts of Forever seemed to be. Then again, that might be a personal opinion, as I'm naturally impatient and I was so invested in these characters that I just wanted to see what was going to happen to them next! In retrospect, maybe including those slow-paced parts was a deliberate way of making the action-packed bits more exciting because that's definitely what happened to me.

Maggie once again succeeds in bringing alive the town of Mercy Falls and the world of the wolves - and I was thoroughly enchanted. The series is definitely one of my personal favorites, so there's no doubt that I mean it when I say I recommend it.
