December 2017 (+ December FOF Linky)

I honestly cannot believe I'm writing up my very last monthly recap for the year. I'm sure I say it all the time when I'm writing these posts, but seriously, where has the time gone? It feels like 2017 was even busier than 2016, which is pretty darn cool. Anyway, check out all the things I got up to (so far) in the month of December! And in case this is the last day of the year you'll be visiting this blog, I wanted to say I wish you the most wonderful 2018.

WHAT I DID

I kicked off the month with a wedding in my hometown of Bacolod, as my best friend & college roomie Rachel got married. It was lovely to be able to be present to celebrate her + Mon, and it was an incredibly beautiful (and totally Rach!) wedding. Alas, as working adults, Macky and I had to depart from the Philippines just about 24 hours afterwards. It was back to the daily grind for us both, though we had plenty of dessert runs, hangouts with friends (including a mini BlueRep reunion at our apartment!), holiday festivities, board game nights and even a couple of snow days. We also got to spend Christmas weekend at one of my favorite places in the universe (and my happy place) Walt Disney World, and that was incredible!

WHAT I READ
Of the 5 books I managed to read in December, my favorites were Love, Life and the List, The Will of the Empress and Meet Cute: Some People are Destined to Meet.

WHAT I POSTED

As 2017 draws to a close, so does the Flights of Fantasy Reading Challenge! It's honestly been so much fun to co-host this with Rachel for the past three years, and to challenge ourselves to keep discovering new fantasy writers and read more fantasy in general. Sadly, we are going to be retiring this challenge for 2018 - though we most definitely still will be reading fantasy books! Anyway, just for kicks, the total number of fantasy novels I read in 2017 was 70.
