Flights of Fantasy • October 2015

We're starting the second to the last month of 2015 today. Wow! Time flies like crazy when you're having fun, and goodness knows, I've had plenty. I managed to read five fantasy novels: Soundless, The Burning Sky, The Perilous SeaThe Immortal Heights and The Peddler's Road. I'm hoping to binge a couple of series in the next two months, and hopefully, that means I hit my updated reading goal for this challenge!

For this month, we're answering another question, care of Rachel. Feel free to share your own answer in the comments section (and I know I'd really love to hear the answer to this one).

What's a fantasy series you want to read?

There are a lot of fantasy books and series I need to check out, particularly from older authors with established fan bases. But the one series that came to mind when I thought about answering this question was The Others by Anne Bishop. I don't read a lot of urban fantasy, it's true. But reading the summary of Written in Red (the first book) sent a shiver down my spine, and that's always promising. Plus, this series comes highly recommended by Racquel & Sarah, and I trust their book tastes! (P.S. There are actually 5 books based on Goodreads, but only 4 have covers.)

  1. I've been meaning to read Anne bishops series too! I've heard good things and it really intrigues me! I've also been meaning to read the burning sky trilogy actually and its perfect since now it's completed! Also -- super excited that I met my flights of fantasy goal in October! Woohoo!

  3. Oh, I love the Written in Red series, girl! I think you should definitely give it a try. I'm thinking the Dissonance duology will be my next fantasy series read. :)
