Top Ten Tuesday: Summer 2015 TBR

As always, this feature is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish

Y'all, I failed miserably at my Spring 2015 TBR, reading only 3 books and the series off of my entire list. So, by default, consider the other titles as part of the TBR I mean to tackle this summer! But I love creating seasonal TBR lists, so I decided to go ahead and make one for the summer season. I'm deliberately excluding review books off of this list, in case you were wondering, because I really do want to make a dent in my TBR.

More Happy Than Not (Adam Silvera) - Adam is one of the best people in the book world! When I first heard about his novel, I was immediately intrigued. And when the opportunity came to snap up my very own copy (at the launch party, no less), you can bet I did. I can't wait to read the story that awaits me between those covers.

Written in the Stars (Aisha Saeed) - I love reading novels about cultures that are different from my own, and this is definitely one I've been hearing positive things about. We're also set to be reading this for book club this month, so teeeeechnically, I'm cheating because I know I'm totally going to be reading this and crossing it off my list. Yay!

Summer of Yesterday (Gaby Triana) - Estelle gifted this book to me because we share a mutual love of Disney. I'm determined to read it this summer, particularly when I'm wishing I could pay good ol' Walt Disney World / Disneyland a visit once more. It sounds like a story that could really transport me, and I definitely love those during summer.

North of Beautiful (Justina Chen) - Rachel is the one who recommended this, as it's one of her personal favorites she's ever read. I don't think I've read a novel by Chen yet, but I'm always up for discovering new contemporary authors to love. Plus, Rachel and I have eerily similar tastes so I'm hoping I love this as much as she does!

Uprooted (Naomi Novik) - I was convinced that I must read this novel by the review discussion Kim & Layla had. They mentioned a whole lot of elements that I crave and adore in my fantasy reads; when we saw each other in person at BEA, they gushed even more and supported my decision to purchase it. Here's to hoping I fall in love with it too!

The Royal We (Heather Cocks & Jessica Morgan) - Hannah is the one who totally told me to buy this book. (I mean this in the most literal sense.) She raved about it, and really, what's not to love about royalty and romance? It sounds like a great beach read, and one that I would totally be immersed in from start to end.

Tatiana and Alexander (Paullina Simons) - I can already hear Kelly yelling with victory over this TBR choice. After she managed to push The Bronze Horseman on me successfully (I really liked it!), she's now constantly reminding me that I need to read the follow-up. I, on the other hand, sense a lot of emotions and all caps text messages in my future...

Lost Lake (Sarah Addison Allen) - I'm pretty sure Cassie and Hannah will be happy that I'm finally giving this author a shot! It was one of them (or both of them) who convinced me to buy this particular book by her first. Southern setting + love + family? Yes please!

You Had Me At Hello (Mhairi McFarlane) - Hannah is the one who mentioned this author to me, and I know that she's read and enjoyed three of her novels. When I spotted a good deal on this one, I snagged it. I'm looking forward to indulging in a story that sounds sweet and swoony in equal measures, and I hope I love it as much as Hannah did!

Jet / Rome / Nash / Rowdy / Asa (Jay Crownover) - Kelly is a huge fan of this series, and has been reminding me that I need to finish reading it ASAP. I read and loved Rule two months ago, and I certainly want to find out the stories behind the rest of this group, so I definitely want to tackle it this summer - no ifs, ands or buts!

  1. Love MORE HAPPY THAN NOT and NORTH OF BEAUTIFUL! The Jay books are good too :)

  2. Holly (nutfreenerd)June 16, 2015 at 7:41 AM

North of Beautiful is a really adorable book, and perfect for the summer! The Royal We seems like such a cool read- I can't wait to see what you think of it!

  3. Sarah Addison Allen is one of my favorites! And Lost Lake is a great place to start, especially for a Summer TBR. Enjoy!

Here's my Top Ten Tuesday list.

  4. MARKED MEN! I love love love that series so much. All of the guys are amazing, but Nash & Asa's books were my favourite <3 I am definitely adding The Royal We to my TBR. It sounds amazing! As does Summer of Yesterday.
    Happy reading! :D

  5. Can't wait to start The Royal We. I ordered it at the library, but there is a 40 PERSON WAITING LIST!

  6. I just ordered Uprooted yesterday! One of my best friends keeps telling me I have to read it ASAP. She even said it is comparable to ACOTAR! And I've had The Royal We on my wish list since I first saw it on Hannah's blog! And I definitely added that Disney book to my list. Now that I have a longer commute I'm going to be FLYING through books!!

  7. I've had You Had Me At Hello for so long and I still haven't read it- oops! Great picks here. Hope you get to read some of these :-) Here's my TTT if you would like to check it out :-) Have a great day! :-)

  8. I haven't been really into fantasy lately but Uprooted looks sooo interesting and I've been hearing great things about it. I hope you enjoy it.

  9. I need to read The Royal We and I need to read Rule from the Marked Men series still.

  10. Uprooted was amazing :) It has so many awesome qualities, but the best part is definitely the strong heroin. Happy reading!

Uprooted and The Royal We are on my list too, I can't wait to read them!!! Happy reading :)

  12. Danielle @ Love at First PageJune 16, 2015 at 6:52 PM

Good luck with your TBR! I'm in the same boat - I have about 10 I'm hoping to read this summer as well (not including my Series a Month). Fingers crossed for us. :)

  13. I recently read More Happy Than Not and absolutely LOVED IT. It was gold! And I also want to read Uprooted, but the thickness is kind of intimidating! Or so I've heard!

  14. North of Beautiful! Definite summer read, please :) It's one of those books that got me back into reading after I had been too busy for books during my first two years in uni. After I read North of Beautiful, I've not stopped reading anymore.

  15. I've read almost all of Sarah Addison Allen's books, and LOVED them! I actually purchased The Lost Lake earlier this year and plan to read it this summer too - maybe we can read it around the same time and send updates! ;)

  16. Alexa thanks for stopping by at Paperback Princess

You have some fantastic books in your list, it just doesn't feel like there's enough time to read everything!

Thanks for leaving a comment! I love seeing what you have to say, and will try to reply (here or on Twitter) as soon as I can :)
