My 2020 Reading Journal | Mid-Year Update

July 13, 2020

Since we're halfway through 2020, I thought it'd be fun to share a quick 2020 reading journal update. I'm proud of the fact that I've been consistent about using it every month! It took me a little while to figure out what really worked for me in terms of layouts, and what information I really wanted to track, but now I feel pretty confident about what I'm doing with it. It's been a nice, relaxing pastime for me (especially in the past couple of months) and I've been glad to adopt it as part of my monthly routine. Hope you enjoy seeing a quick look at my spreads, and I'm happy to answer any questions in the comments!

Here's a quick summary of the types of pages you'll be seeing below:
  • Monthly pages, which could include 1) a title page, 2) a calendar page, 3) a reading tracker, 4) a TBR list, 5) a list of the books I've read, 6) a list of the books I've hauled
  • Readathon pages, which generally include information about the hosts, dates and prompts, as well as what I ended up reading for the event
  • Tracker pages, which usually center around buddy reads, book clubs, a series or an author

Do you use a planner or a bullet journal (whether it’s for life or books or both)?

  1. Your post reached me at the perfect time - I'm about to start a reading journal (nevermind that we are halfway through 2020 :P) and your spreads have given me some needed inspiration.

  2. This post speaks to my heart! I particularly love the moons on the May TBR page! My new journal should be arriving tomorrow and I'm excited to get started on it!

  3. The person at the circulation desk is usually not the person who makes decisions about what books go on the shelves. He or she might just add the book to the stack of donated books, many of which end up in the library's book sales to raise money for the library.

Thanks for leaving a comment! I love seeing what you have to say, and will try to reply (here or on Twitter) as soon as I can :)
