February 2020

February might be the shortest month of the year, and I might have been sick for a good portion of it, but I still somehow managed to cram the month full of fun activities!

  • The first week was mostly devoted to spending more time with Rachel before she left, including dinner dates and brunch dates and dessert dates, seeing shows (Stomp! and Come From Away, specifically) and game nights and a house party to top it all off.
  • The second week was mostly a blur because of my illness, but I recovered just in time to spend Galentine's Day with Rachel & Kristin and to finally play Dungeons & Dragons again with Macky, Kristin and Andrew.
  • During the third week, I attended two book events: the Barclays Book Club with Lyssa Kay Adams, Andie J. Christopher & Chanel Cleeton, as well as The Stationery Shop event at The Strand.
  • And this past fourth week has been mostly quiet, as Macky left for a trip to Australia and the Philippines. I didn't have any major plans, except to go to Kinokuniya with Kristin and to get started on my spring cleaning this year.

I read 15 books in February! This includes 4 rereads (The Duke & I, The Viscount Who Loved Me, An Offer from a Gentleman and Romancing Mr. Bridgerton), which I still absolutely adored and which also mark the first half of my Bridgerton series reread for this year. My new-to-me favorites of the month include Cassandra Clare's newest series starter Chain of Gold, and the last two books of the Shades of Magic series by V.E. Schwab, A Gathering of Shadows and A Conjuring of Light. I also read two new contemporary stories that really moved me: In Five Years by Rebecca Serle and Little Universes by Heather Demetrios.

In case you missed anything, here's a full list of all the blog posts that went up last month! It was a little quieter around these parts because I was so sick for a while.

If you'd prefer to see Macky & I talking about books, don't forget to check out the videos that were uploaded to our YouTube channel!

If you'd rather listen to Macky & I chat about books and other things we're interested in, might I suggest giving Fandom Buzzz a shot? It's our weekly podcast where we basically fanboy/fangirl over everything we love. Missed most of February due to the illness and Macky traveling, but we'll be back in fine form come March!
