What I Loved: March 2019

It's time for another round-up of my monthly favorites! I genuinely love being able to gush about what I loved from the previous month. It's fun to discover who else shares my interests, getting new recommendations for similar things and encouraging people to check out (and fall in love with, hopefully) the things that I've loved. My Fair Lady | I had the pleasure of catching the current Broadway run of this show with Rachel early on in March. It was absolutely wonderful! The staging was incredible (I truly loved the costuming and the sets), and the cast blew me away with their talent. I definitely felt entertained as I watched, and even left feeling inspired to write a modern day romance version of this story...

New York City Transit Museum | My sister Rachel has always wanted to visit this museum, and we finally managed to make it down there at the end of March. It was even more interesting than I expected it to be! Aside from learning a little more about the history and technology behind the subway system that's become a day-to-day presence for us, we also got to experience the evolution of the transit system as we visited a variety of train cars. (Why don't we still have padded seats and more spacious cars though?) 

Abercrombie & Fitch jacket | I honestly can't find the link to this jacket on the A&F site, but it was one of my favorite purchases ever especially in this weird weather that's caught between winter and spring. It's comfortable, it keeps me warm but not overly so, it's cute and it goes with most of my regular wardrobe.

Temporary Love by Ben Platt | I'm definitely a Ben Platt fan, and I really love this song! It was an earlier release from his new album (which came out at the end of the month), and it's just the right combination of catchy tune and meaningful lyrics to really hit my sweet spot.

Nothing Really Matters by Gabrielle Aplin | Speaking of new favorite songs, I have a deep love for Gabrielle Aplin and her music, so it's not surprising that her latest track made it onto this favorites list as well. Again, catchy tune and clever lyrics - it really works for me! Plus, this song has the additional bonus of making me think about The Infernal Devices so...

I Could Get Used to This by Becky Hill & Weiss (UK) | The minute I discovered this song on the New Music Friday playlist, I knew it was immediately going to become a part of my regular rotation. It is seriously right up my alley yet again with the music + lyrics combination!

Bagels from The Bagel Store | Rachel has mentioned many a time that she really wanted to try the rainbow bagels from this shop... and we finally made it there before the month ended. I've got to say that I didn't have any expectations going in, but the bagels and cream cheese blew me away. We tried the rainbow bagel with rainbow cream cheese and the galaxy bagel with unicorn cream cheese and both combinations were delicious. Can't wait to go back and try more!

Cake Pops from Rebecca's Cake Pops | You know how when you see a dessert that looks super adorable, you're never sure if it's going to taste as good as it looks? Well, I'm here to tell you that you have no need to fear when it comes to Rebecca's Cake Pops. They had such cute animal cake pops on offer when we went to OMG! Dessert Goals, and I can report that they were delicious.

Cookies from Baked in Color | I've seen this place around a few times, but only finally got the chance to try their cookies this month... and I can't believe I waited so long. They're basically just wonderfully colorful chocolate chip cookies, but I am still here for it.

Unicorn Ice Cream Cake from Stax | I have only ever seen Stax cakes on Instagram, but I finally got the opportunity to try my first one last month - and holy moly, it was so good. I normally find ice cream cakes to be hit or miss, and this was definitely a hit.
