Table for Two #28: FryGuys

Rachel of Hello, Chelly and I have teamed up to bring you a collaboration that involves two of my favorite things: New York City and food. Welcome to Table for Two, where the two of us will be highlighting places to eat in New York City! I'm sharing about our experience at FryGuys today, while Rachel will clue you in on our visit to Wowfulls.

Where | FryGuys, 150 East 2nd St. (Ave. A), New York, NY 10009
Cuisine | French fries, sandwiches
Price | $$ Moderate

What we ordered
  • Southern Guy loaded fries (fried chicken and maple gravy)
  • Poutine loaded fries (cheese curds and maple gravy)
  • The Fry Guy sandwich (slow-roasted pork, smokey BBQ sauce, coleslaw)
What we thought

I had a strong craving for French fries when we were deciding where we wanted to eat, and since I knew Rachel loves fries as much as I do, it was a no brainer to settle on paying a visit to FryGuys. The spot itself is tiny, so you’ll have to hope that it’s not too busy when you pop in if you’re hoping to grab a seat. But it has a comfortable, laidback vibe that will put you right at ease, with a casual set of tables, a wall filled with framed photos, fun neon and rainbow touches and a simple counter to order at where you can catch a glimpse of where the magic happens. And the actual food – both the sandwich I had and the two types of fries we shared – was delicious. I’d like to think that I’m a fairly good judge of character when it comes to French fries, and these were definitely some of the best that I’ve ever had.

Rating | 🥂🥂🥂 Really good
