August is my favorite month of the year! It's mostly because it's my birthday month (and I usually give myself a bit of a free pass when it comes to the amount of dessert I consume and things that I end up buying). But this year, August was an extra special month because there were so many fun things happening! My in-laws were in town and celebrated my birthday with me, which was really special and wonderful. Macky, my sisters and I got overly obsessed with Overcooked, a game for the Nintendo Switch (and we're either completely finished with it or stuck on the last special level when this post goes live tomorrow). I got to see not one, not two, but three book-to-movie adaptations (The Darkest Minds, To All the Boys I've Loved Before and Crazy Rich Asians), and Voltron's latest season was also released (all of my paladin feels, okay?!). I also had the very special experience of interviewing an author I adore for Facebook! There was also a themed party with friends, as well as plenty of ice cream and dinner dates with folks I love. August has been so good to me, and I'm sad to see it go (though I'm excited because September is another of my favorite months of the year)!
I read a little less than I normally do during the month of August, clocking a total of 11 novels, 1 novel and 1 DNF. My favorite reads were Dream Magic, Burning Magic and The Storm Runner, and I also really enjoyed the time I spent reading Check, Please!: #Hockey towards the end of the month.

ReplyDeleteAhhhh, Overcooked looks like so much fun! My husband has a Switch and he bought it so we could play games together, so I'm definitely asking him to get this one. Do you have any other recommendations? We only have Mario Kart right now :p

Happy belated birthday! My girls and me love my switch that I grabbed earilier this year. We have a blast yelling at eachother in cooked and we all love playing Mario Kart 8. I DNFed These Rebel Waves I tried so hard to love it.
