Solstice Party | A Court of Frost and Starlight Celebration

It's finally here! It's finally the official release day for A Court of Frost and Starlight, a novella set in the world post-events in the A Court of Thorns and Roses series, and the newest release from the lovely Sarah J. Maas. I fully intend to devour this novella the minute it hits my Kindle (which is usually around one in the morning my time), but I'm sure I'll just be happy to be back in this world and with these characters yet again.

I'm really excited to be teaming up with two of my favorite people, Rachel of Hello, Chelly & DJ of DJ Writes to host our very own online Solstice Party. DJ's got the invites taken care of, Rachel's picked out the tunes, and I've worked out a menu that I hope you'll find as delicious as I do!

The idea for the Solstice Party came from the novella itself! The description says: "Feyre, Rhys, and their companions are still busy rebuilding the Night Court and the vastly-changed world beyond. But Winter Solstice is finally near, and with it, a hard-earned reprieve. Yet even the festive atmosphere can't keep the shadows of the past from looming. As Feyre navigates her first Winter Solstice as High Lady, she finds that those dearest to her have more wounds than she anticipated--scars that will have far-reaching impact on the future of their Court."

Without further ado, check out the official menu for our Solstice Party! Because I imagine the party to be filled with revelry and conversation, I thought it'd be best to choose things that come in smaller portions that could be easily consumed or carried around. I also felt like it would be appropriate to choose dishes with mostly natural origins, both for ease of preparation and because I somehow feel like they would taste even better on a night as magical and meaningful as the winter solstice.

Guests can start with a little garden salad in tiny bowls, and follow it up with a plate piled high from morsels from the meat and cheese plate. There are also stuffed peppers, tea sandwiches and quiche cups on hand as part of the selection of savories.

For sweets, there are quite a few options to pick from - tasty and colorful sorbets (reminiscent of summer, certainly, but still delicious), aesthetically pleasing and delicious cupcakes for cake fans, chocolate fountains with all sorts of goodies to dip into them, gingerbread cookies in the shape of snowflakes and other things, and a selection of seasonal fruits arranged artfully in a platter.

To satisfy your thirst, there's obviously copious amounts of fresh water. But to spice things up and in honor of the celebration, guests can choose between sparkling champagne or a glass of wine. There's also the winter sangria to enjoy, for something a little more seasonal. And if you're cutting back on your alcohol intake, there's cider and hot chocolate to enjoy as well.

Hope you enjoyed the menu I've put together for our Solstice Party! Don't forget to check out your official invitation over at DJ's blog, as well as giving Rachel's playlist a listen. And, if you're reading A Court of Frost and Starlight, well, happy reading!

As a bonus (and because I couldn't resist), I decided to pick out three dresses I would wear to our Solstice Party! What do you think of my possible dress choices? Which is your favorite?
