    1. I actually just had the same experience with The Demon King! It just wasn't working for me at the moment, so I ended up setting it aside for now. And I hope that you enjoy The Orphan Queen!

  2. I hope you are going to love Jesse's girl! Princess of thorns was pretty good. Not the best fairytale retelling I've ever read, but the MC is strong and I loved the unique twists. I must get started in The demon king this year and I'm currently reading The orphan queen, thanks to you, and I'm LOVING it.

    Happy reading :D

    1. I'm SO happy to hear that you're loving The Orphan Queen, Mel! And I'm hoping I love Jesse's Girl too, though I'm fairly confident I will based on my experience with Miranda's other novels :)

  4. Alexa, thanks so much for sharing my blog post from filmsandreveries! I'm so so happy that you got Jesse's Girl- I'm over the moon excited about that one since I adore the Hundred Oaks series too and am super excited for the music aspect in this particular one! Everybody Knows Your Name has been on my radar for awhile and I'm so interested in finding out how you'll like it! Hope you enjoy both books! :D

    1. I'm really excited about Everybody Knows Your Name! Leila talked it up a bit when we were at the launch party, and it just sounds like something I'd find entertaining. Also, yes, I'm super excited about Jesse's Girl! I love Miranda and her novels, and I'm super excited to be able to read this one early :)

um. um. You've never read Number the Stars?! Drop everything and start reading. Seriously.

I'm really curious about Rebecca as well! Somehow I made it out of high school/college without having to read it and now I'm wondering what I've missed - especially since I've been hearing fantastic things for years.

JOJOOOOO ♥! Penguin sent me a copy of this one that I still need to get to - I'm all about buddy reads if you're interested! (basically I need someone to get my butt in gear when it comes to older titles)

    1. I read Number the Stars the other night and I LOVED IT. It was beautifully written, and so incredibly moving, and I found myself utterly amazed.

And yes, let's figure out buddy reads for Jojo and for Rebecca, maybe? It could be fun!
