I'm a little late in posting this, but I thought I'd share anyway, as it's Book Blogger Appreciation Week! Today's topic: What does book blogging mean to you?
The corniest answer to this question - book blogging means the world to me. This is not only in the sense of how much I personally derive pleasure from the experience and treasure it on a personal level, but also in the sense that it's opened up an entire community of people for me to interact with, discover and befriend.
My absolutely favorite thing about book blogging is getting to know other people who are just as crazy about books, in particular books that I like too, as I am. It's been a true joy *virtually* meeting my book blogger friends (and in some cases, meeting them in person) and I'm happy to say that the sense of camaraderie and understanding from all the people I've come to know in this world makes me happy.
Not only do I get to meet people as book crazy as myself, but I also get the opportunity to interact with professionals in the book blogging world - editors and publishers and publicists and writers - and that's also another fun thing. Being connected to them in such a concrete way is definitely cool, and again, it has opened up another new world to me.
So yes, book blogging means the world to me.

<33 I don't think your answer is corny. Mine would be the same. It's such a HUGE part of my life and, even when I feel like quitting, I can't imagine my life without you all and this amazingly inspiring community of very diverse people.
ReplyDeleteNot corny at all! I haven't been blogging for all THAT long, but I honestly can't imagine NOT doing it! I look forward to seeing what all my blog friends are up to, interacting with them on the blogs and Twitter, and although I've never met anyone, I sometimes feel like they "get" my weird quirks better than my in real life friends!
ReplyDeleteEverything you said is so true! I have met so many wonderful people through book blogging, particularly other readers I've really connected with. I wouldn't change that for anything.
ReplyDeleteWow, I couldn't agree with you more. And your answer isn't corny, blogging means the world to me to! It's great to find so many great people that love it just as much as I do. I also like connecting with the professionals in this industry. Great post!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely not a corny answer! Blogging means the world to me to, and I love the bloggers I've discovered over the years.
ReplyDeleteI agree that the most favorite thing about blogging is meeting other bloggers and because of that reason.....to me blogging is all about the wonderful bloggers who make it happen.
ReplyDeleteStop by to see my post if you like.
Have a fun day.

ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you mean, I believe we blog for the same reasons - to connect with so many wonderful readers who understand how passionate we are about the books we read.
WORD to this whole post. Where was I without blogging and all the great people?!
ReplyDeleteGreat answer -- and you're right! It's such a great way to meet other people who are just as crazy as you are for books. That's something to love.
